Forum Engineers was formed in 1994. We started out by providing plan review service to the building departments around Puget Sound area. Within a year, we added structural engineering service to builders, architects, and developers. Our engineering service was focused on residential and light commercial wood buildings. Through our engineering and plan review projects, we developed software (mainly in the form of Excel spreadsheets) to increase our accuracy and productivity. These spreadsheets have been updated day be day and some of them became quite powerful and user-friendly. We finally decided to market our spreadsheets in November 2001.
